1. Improved Cook Stove
Firewood for cooking costs approximately 30% of many CasaSito Scholar's family incomes and generates large amounts of smoke that can cause severe respiratory health issues over time.
GOAL: Design a way to reduce the use of firewood for cooking that will ease this economic and health issue.
2. Powerless Washing Machine
CasaSito Scholars and their families spend a large percentage of their income on necessities such as education and food, and the common practice of washing clothes by hand for additional income can cause major strain on the body.
GOAL: Design a way to increase families' earning potential when washing clothes for others while easing the strain it could have on their health.
